Kristen had the day off so I took the day off and we went to Cincinnati. We went to Newport Aquarium in the morning and I tried to do some geocaching.
We also saw Over the Hedge. I was not sure that I wanted to see it as the commercials looked too cheesy and I enjoy the comic online so didn’t want to get disappointed by watching the film. The film was very funny but the ironic thing is that the film has been plugged by Walmart and Kroger a lot – yet the film is about the excess purchasing and food eating habits of humans. My favourite character was Hammy – the squirrel (thats squ-ir-rel).
I’ve loaded some of the pictures we took up to flickr – there are more photo’s but these ones will do to start with.

Lost dvd has got “lost”

A while back I decided to get the series 1 of Lost from Amazon from an amazon marketplace seller who had had good feedback. Unfortunately that was March 19th and I’ve still not received anything. However looking at the sellers feedback it looks like I’m not the only person with problems from this user (There was only one complaint when I placed the order). I complained to amazon as the positive feedback looked suspicious as people were saying they had received goods within 2 days but I hadn’t even received an acknowledgement – amazon replied to tell me I had to wait until 28 days before I could claim my money back -the last day for the goods to arrive is tomorrow and then Thursday I’ll be claiming. In the meantime, I’d recommend you stay away from [email protected]
Update I thought I’d delete my feedback and add something else to it – but it turns out that if you delete feedback on amazon then you can’t add another feedback comment – my comment was “12 days from order, no goods, acknowledgement or contact from seller despite 2 emails requesting information” now it’s “Still no feedback from this user – I’ll be claiming against Amazon after tomorrow”

coke blogs

Blogging has hit the mainstream when an ad at the cinema advertises where you can have a blog (and do other stuff) on the coke site. I was quite amazed that this was shown on an ad, but then again the film we went to see was a sci-fi one, Aeon Flux, so I guess Sci Fi people enjoy blogging?
The film was pretty good with some nice special effects although there were a couple of moments where it dragged on and I almost fell asleep! It is similar to the matrix but not as cliched and thankfully they didn’t do that bullet stop motion thing.

The Pacifier

We watched The Pacifier on dvd yesterday. Kristen loved the film and I thought it was “daft but funny”. Like Vin Diesel, as long as you don’t take the film too seriously and treat it as a Bondesque type film then it is pretty good. The commentary of the film on dvd is good too with a mix of jokes, facts and trivia about the film.
