Grrr – firefox crashes after I’ve uploaded a file to a website. Happens on geocaching.com, this blog and on Microsoft’s site uploading a bug report. Very annoying as the whole browser crashes 🙁 Not sure what has caused this, probably some faulty extension or something. (It happens when the page you get after uploading a file is displayed). I’ve sent several reports back to Microsoft and the mozilla group, but the latter is annoying as most of the time the bug reporting application seems to freeze too 🙁
MBSA (Microsoft’s Baseline Security Analyzer) tool is now available. I’ll be downloading to play with it later.
I’ve changed my RSS feed this morning due to a couple of new features that Feedburner have released. They spent thursday adding new features to Feedburner to celebrate to their last day in their old office (most people would have spent the day moving furniture!) One of the features is the ability to geotag an RSS feed so the absoblogginlutely feedburner feed now has the general location from my zipcode added. I’m not sure which rss readers will use this information but I’m sure it won’t be long before aggregators start to add this functionality in. I’ve also removed my flickr feed from automatically being included as I don’t always want my flickr photos included in this website feed so you may want to subscribe to my flickr photos here
This blog is now listed on Blogdigger
I’ve never had my display driver blue screen and not respond, but this morning it happened for the first time. Using Google Earth I was exploring Australia when all of a sudden the mouse and keyboard stopped working and the computer beeped. About 20 seconds later I got a fault in the display and it went back to a 640*480, 16 colours resolution, told me to reboot and then send the error report to Microsoft. Immediately after sending the error report I get sent to their analysis page which tells me that a Microsoft analyst has investigated this problem and they don’t have a solution and that I should contact Intel for a solution…..hmmmmm I wonder how much of that is true. Apparently you can track this problem and get notified when/if they update a solution – apart from the fact that the wizard fails saying the page can’t be found.
Since the API has been released, people have been busy producing kml files that you can load into google earth. You can add these bookmarks to GE and then browse geotagged photos from flickr (newest) and nearest or del.icio.us.
Using the google maps api I made a map of all geocaches that I’ve found, centered on my home town. I’m pretty pleased with it so far. It requires the gpx of my finds uploaded to my webspace, the html page and a google maps api key.
I now have this at the top of my geocaching blog and would have it in this post if I could work out how to get an iframe to be displayed inline on a blog entry.
Just had a telephone call from a company that I had applied for a job. I was a bit anxious as the advert did not mention the company that was advertising the position but they are legitimate (sometimes these adverts are just to get your resume details or even used for phishing attacks!). The interview is a week on Friday – (8th July).
Koozie points to a Software review on 3 linux system rescue cds. Looks like the System Rescue CD will be a good addition to the recovery cds that I already have.
Andy’s Winston and Kristen’s Teapot were ready this afternoon so we went to pick them up. We’re both pleased with how they came out.
