Verizon bill

We got our first (and last at this rate!) phone from Verizon this afternoon for the calls for this month. We’ve not bothered with a home phone number as we don’t make that many calls….unfortunately we’ve received a lot of calls – most of them during the day and after the 500 minutes we get with our monthly allowance, each minute is charged at 45cents. We’ve had a bill for $282 of calls for Kristen’s phone this month!
That is totally unacceptable so we’re now quickly looking for an alternative. I’m looking at possibly using timewarner’s voip or vonage – both of which I’ve heard nasty things about. So any recommendations?

Our first phone bill after we moved to Ohio from Virginia was $307.08. We gave in and got Vonage. I cannot say that it is not without its ups and downs, but I think that it is the best bang for the buck. You can go to Best Buy and get the hardware, sign up online, and have yourself up and running in less than half an hour. Just make sure to disconnect the line that goes outside if you are wiring in to your existing phone lines.

Do I sound enough like a commercial?

Less than a month ago, I finally got all of my family away from Verizon. I would recommend that, too.

If you are in need of any other unsolicited opinions, just let me know. 🙂

Check out a company called “Packet 8” (You can Google it). They have the same type service as Vonage, but CHEAPER!! by a couple of bucks per month!
(If you use “kjbush1” as referrer, I will get a free month of service also!)
