I need to find a way of spamencoding emails on the website (or removing the email address’s from MT as I think I got my email address crawled from it. At the moment the only spams that seem to be getting through to my mailbox are the Nigerian 411 ones.

Use spam_protect=”1″ as an attribute wherever you provide email addresses. Seems to work for me and it doesn’t break validity.
But it’s best to not provide them at all if you can. I think you can use no_email=”1″ for MTAuthorLink if you never want an email address showing.
