Finally got round to installing the MT-Blacklist – A Movable Type Anti-spam Plugin at lunchtime. Don’t know why I haven’t done it earlier really!
That virus alert I posted the other day has now been classified as w32.bugbros@mm which sounds more like a bug in a movie.
The Beeb are reporting that America is planning to insist on people having biometric passports to enter under the visa waiver program and as usual in this country there is no way that the Passport agency will be able to produce this information in passports by the deadline (let alone handling the hundreds thousands of passport applications they will receive). It will be a nice little money earner for the government though and an extra step towards the national ID card scheme so I doubt they will complain too much. Apparently they are “lobbying hard” to get america to extend the time limit.
Kristen’s started another blog, CupteaLuv? (to be said in a Northern accent. Speaking of which, its a nightmare trying to create a new blog in the same sort of style of another existing blog…there are so many things you have to tweak.
As I get free Non Geographical numbers off peak it makes sense to use the Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers instead of the 0870 or 0845 ones.
Apparently BT are teaming up with McDonalds to offer WIFI at the drivethrough. Now I thought you got into enough trouble eating at the wheel, let alone operating a laptop or handheld at the same time….and as for the wardrivers, how interested are they going to be in the number of BigMacs being ordered at that present moment – mind you, hacking the wireless network could produce some fun food orders and who knows, you might even get what you ordered!
I upgraded my Bat client this morning to version 2 after I realised it had been out (lots of months) and was pleasantly suprised to see that there was a 30% discount until 10th January on the Christmas edition so I got a bargain. It looks nicer and I’m glad to say that the autocheck of accounts works on my xp installation (which it never did on my 98 or w2k installation)
What a nightmare. It’s now 3 hours into the restore and I’m just cataloguing the tape for the first time….
Someone blogged about Alain Lissoir who seems to be is a scripting guru.He has a couple of interesting articles, with scripts, for managing Exchange Server 2000 (of interest to me) and also quite a few for w2k3 and exchangew2k3
People have been raving about the page that shows you who subscribes to your rss feed but it doesn’t work for me, with a
Macro error: Can’t evaluate the expression because the name “https://absoblogginlutely.net/index.rdf” hasn’t been defined. message appearing. (and I get the same (unfriendly message) for any of my urls that I put in.
