Hope you all enjoy the extra day this year – don’t think we’ll be doing anything special.
We had a nice meal out on Saturday night at El Rio’s Mexican and Cajun Restaurant in Macclesfield. I had been there for a meal with work some time ago and the food was really good. I’m not convinced the food was as nice as the last time and I was disappointed that we didnt get to see the live jazz as we were tucked away in a (cramped) corner but I think we all had a good time. Afterwards we went to Andy’s Father’s brother, nephew’s cousin’s dad’s pub which reminded me of a local back in Portsmouth and reminded me that there aren’t any nice locals in Congleton (that I’ve discovered). Although I don’t drink it was nice to go out for a pint to relax occasionally.
I wrote the next bit whilst in a restaurant in London earlier this week. Hope you find it as amusing as I did.
A party or 9 people sat opposite me in the restaurant. “Cheesy bread” said one man. Two seconds later he asks it anyone has seen the cheesy bread. “Cheesy bread”. “Oooh- they have cheesy bread! I know what I’m having” came a second later. At this point I think the whole restaurant knew what he was having……
SALAD
… after all that fuss, he had salad.
The other good thing is they upgraded my pizza from small to medium. So the entertainment and free pizza made a good evening out. Unfortunately I’m having to spend it in London and work although this does give good opportunities for people watching.
…must be the Bash Street Kids who are celebrating their 50th birthday today – and they are still in the same year at school!
I cleaned my keyboard today, or rather I held it upside down whilst hitting it hard on the bottom. I learnt two things….one this doesn’t really help, two you really do use the space bar a lot and can’t do without it.
I’ve also decided to call my autobiography “Crisps in my keyboard”
The latest fines news as Speeding drivers face victim levy. This is getting daft, I’m going to need a category soon just for all the fine related items I’ve blogged about. Now they are adding £5 to speeding fines etc to pay for victim support. Why don’t they actually make the perpetrator pay for victim support – not speeding motorist, who seem to be yet again a soft target. Note that I’m not condoning speeding!
Symantec have published an article about why since January 7th your computer slows down and Microsoft Word and Excel will not start. Rob – this could be your problem? I noticed that around this date our Internet bandwidth was running at 100% used! The workaround is to disable Certificate revocation….
I think that the car’s better – the mechanic came round and they tried various things, eventually taking the air filter apart and blowing some explosive air over the exposed air intake – and the car started!!!!!! It looks like there was a blockage somewhere between the outside, the air filter and the engine (you can tell I did Motor Vehicle Studies at school can’t you). Hopefully we’ll get it back tomorrow and I won’t need to ferry Kristen to work on Wednesday, especially as I’m due back at Christies for another checkup on my leg.
