In the processing of trying

In the processing of trying to fix graphic and usb problems on one of the w2k servers I upgraded the bios as I got a “”Your computer’s system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35)” message.
Managed to fix the graphics on one of the w2k servers, which would only show me 680*400 and 16 colours by enabling the IRG for PCI VGA in the bios. Also, by changing the MPS version to 1.1 instead of 1.4 in the bios the USB ports also work!
Now I have a nice clean crisp background and no errors in device manager – sweet!

Home Page Reader is not

Home Page Reader is not a good program to install on your pc. 1) The download software has expired. 2) It hijacks the start page of your browser to point to its internal documentation page 3) There is no uninstall icon in the start menu neither is there a single uninstall routine. There are homepage tutorials, the application and 7 language files – and I don’t know what else (each with their individual add/remove/are you sure routines! – ARGGGGH!

Tut Tut Tut. The Hotpoint

Tut Tut Tut. The Hotpoint website will only allow you in if using internet explorer or netscape AND uses flash with no text alternative. However, when I get to the competition page it just keeps on reloading in ie 🙁
A snotty email has been sent saying they need to work on their website usability
Update Out of interest I am downloading the 31 day trial version of IBM’s WebPage Reader software that is commonly used by blind people to see how accessible the hotpoint site is, and also my own and works site. Will be interesting!MoreAfter waiting ages for the 28mb file to download – on broadband! the stupid software now reckons it has expired 🙁
