Had a bit of a scare on the office computer on Thursday – went to uninstall some programs and noticed something called SaveNow in the list of programs. Checked this out with Google and discovered that it was some spyware and had come with a copy of Global Divx – a pretty good free dvd/cd player. Apparently if you install it there is an option to do a custom install and at that point you can unselect SaveNow.
Its pretty annoying software so uninstall SaveNow if you have it and then also run LavaSofts AdAware
which will go through your computer and show you whats left (as it doesn’t uninstall everything!)
