Went bowling yesterday for three

Went bowling yesterday for three hours! The local bowling alley has a special deal of 10 bucks for three hours which was a really good deal. They also let us have two lanes for the three of us, so we were bowling nearly all the time. I got my best score ever (twice) 149 and 177 so I was very pleased. Towards the end of the three hours I started to experiment with how I bowled. I have not been able to “run” with the ball towards the lanes previously and never really been able to try it – as I’ve always wanted a respectable score and its so expensive in the uk to just muck around. This time I had the opportunity and my brother-in-law is a good bowler too so he gave me some tuition. By the final game (of 6 or 7) I was able to bowl fairly well at a run and that is how I got the 149 score. The 177 was bowling as I usually do. I also got two Turkeys!
Now I’m off to eat a cinnabon or two for breakfast

Time flies when you are

Time flies when you are on holiday. We’ve now been away for a week – and already we’ve had thanksgiving (yesterday) and today is Christmas – amazing! As there was a *cough* *cough* mixup with the dates of thanksgiving, we are returning home before the actual date, so it was decided to hold thanksgiving early. Our neighbours must have thought we were mad as there was a turkey cooking on grill outside, christmas carols playing on the stereo and a tree being decorated. We are doing Christmas today as it means we can have the family time and swap presents whilst most of us are in the same place. On another note, the Buckeyes won yesterday!!!! (First time I’d seen a football match properly and I understood most of what was going on.) We’re off to see an ice hockey game Wednesday evening which should be fun.

Almost half way through my

Almost half way through my hols – and this is the first time i’ve posted to the blog! It wasn’t until yesterday that I actually got to use a computer – and then it was to try and fix the parent-in-laws computer. We got some extra memory for the computer as it only had 64MB in – but the computer would only recognise half the chip. I suspected it was to do with the speed of the memory, and I got an email response (the same day!!!) from gateway confirming it – so it’s back to Staples this morning to swap the memory chip. I also got a 128mb card for the digital camera as I filled the 16mb one up with one day of shooting so I have loads of photos ready to be uploaded and a nice empty card to fill up again! I also get a 11 bucks rebate as the card is cheaper at compusa and staples pricematch 🙂

Thanks for the offer Kelly

Thanks for the offer Kelly – but I don’t think I’ll be driving over there just to pick up a cheese thingy.
Just tried skinning XP for the first time today after downloading the SoSumi skin which looks really neat. However, when I tried to use it, XP gives the really helpful message of “The Theme could not load”. REALLY helpful – way to go Microsoft! Any ideas (Neil?). Whilst there I also downloaded StyleXP and that decides that it will only run on build 2600 (and others) of XP – and guess what version I am running? 2600. Brilliant! I’m beginning to wonder if there is a problem with my themes……

I use Spamcop to report

I use Spamcop to report incidents of the few spam that gets through my filters. However, The Bat plugin that I used had suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago. Took a few minutes this morning to get it working. Basically the “from” field in the email that they send you has changed and now has devnull.spamcop.net in (it didn’t use to have the devnull field in. Changing the Sender field to have the devnull string has made it all work!
