Tut Tut Tut. The Hotpoint website will only allow you in if using internet explorer or netscape AND uses flash with no text alternative. However, when I get to the competition page it just keeps on reloading in ie 🙁
A snotty email has been sent saying they need to work on their website usability
Update Out of interest I am downloading the 31 day trial version of IBM’s WebPage Reader software that is commonly used by blind people to see how accessible the hotpoint site is, and also my own and works site. Will be interesting!MoreAfter waiting ages for the 28mb file to download – on broadband! the stupid software now reckons it has expired 🙁
I remembered reading a while ago on a blog somewhere about the Astronomy picture of the day that had been scraped into an RSS feed which means I can use it in Newzcrawler and get the daily picture. Problem was I couldn’t remember where I had seen it. Google later and I had found the article on the Shifted Librarians site.
I’ve been playing Ratchet and Clank which we got out from the library – its a bit like Crash Bandicoot, but the graphics are better. Still just as infuriatingly hard though! It has to go back on Wednesday, but if I get it from the its 10 pounds cheaper at 29.99 than anywhere else I’ve seen!
GameRankings looks like a good PlayStation2 site which ranks games that have been released. That way I can tell if the cheapo ps2 game I’m going to buy is pants or not. Seeing as though the new games are so expensive, its worthwhile. The annoying thing is that John Lewis were doing a good tenner or more off if you spent over 20quid, but the offer has expired 🙁
Did I mention that OHIO WON LAST NIGHT????????????????????????????? WOOOHOOOO!

Grrrr – the uk.shopsmart.com site has now closed. Shame as that was quite useful. In other news, Ohio State won their game last night which makes them record breakers (cue corny jazz music!) (link to Google News)
Crucial.com has a utility available, Belarc Advisor, in their memory selector which audits your pc and then provides you with a webpage with the hardware details, software installed on your pc, hotfixes installed/broken, user ids etc etc. A Very useful auditing tool. The only problem is that they say its not meant to be used on corporate pc’s and should only be used for personal use. (which is a bit weird as its given on Crucial’s website which corporates would use to order more memory. Anyway, check out the utility as it is a great way of knowing all about your pc!
Argghh…two days after getting MT working on the laptop and having a chance to use it, it’s died….Now I’ll have to see how long before work stumps up for a new one!
grrrr. I’ve just had a Satellite broadband salesperson try and convince me that an ADSL broandband, always on connection is limited to 150 hours a month. Not sure what part of “Always on” they don’t understand. Needless to say I wasnt interested!
