Things You Could Buy Me

As it is my day off today - apart from several necessary pastoral visits - I thought I would give to you a non-materialistic wishlist that would enhance my life.

If you love me, you will buy me one. They are listed in no particular order, but I would obviously prefer the most expensive gifts first.

1. An Apple iPod. I would be prepared to accept the 20GB version if you prefer.

2. A John Calvin Hooded Sweatshirt (XL for a comfy fit).

3. A Jack Daniels Coffee and Mug Set

4. Chris De Burgh's new album "The Road to Freedom"

5. Evangelicals and Truth (Peter Hicks)

6. Dogmatics in Outline (Karl Barth)

7. A Bust of Mahler (15")

8. Antaeus Aftershave (100ml)

9. Yankee Candle Blueberry Muffin (22oz Housewarmer Jar)

10. Desktop Book and Copy Holder

In closing, I exonerate you from any part in breaching the 10th Commandment by participating in this little exercise. Should these small tokens of your esteem fail to reach me, it is unlikely that I will lose any sleep. I'm sure I will cope.

In the meantime, happy shopping!

PS Delivery address available upon email request...

I shall endeavour never to take time off in the future - I had forgotten that our God flagellates those who refuse to work 24 hours a day, 7 days every week.

As I am working at the moment, I have dictated this blog response to my secretary who, in order to ensure that I do not waste a single moment, will in future be writing all my blog entries.

:P
