Absoblogginlutely! is written by myself, Andy Helsby. Born in England in 1972 I moved to the United States in 2005. Currently single I have ended up with 2 crazy cats – Frankie and Basil whose pictures can be seen in the various photo sites below.

My first website was created in 1996 (or earlier) and hosted at Geocities but is not currently maintained. The first blog post was written in March 2001 and hosted with Blogger. It eventually became Helsby.net in 2002. After a year of writing the blog, I decided it needed a name for branding purposes and came up with Absoblogginlutely.net in 2003 and has been found at this location ever since.

Absoblogginlutely! IRL is an offshoot from my main blog, Absoblogginlutely! after I decided to separate the technical content from the non technical content. Absoblogginlutely has posts that have come up during my work as a Network Engineer, from other peoples blogs and discussions and various issues that I have solved. Posts on IRL are unlikely to be technical in nature (unless I am recommending something for my non technical readers such as Google Reader) and are more likely to contain pictures of cats.

An active member in Friends In Tech, Andy has written articles, tips and “IT Minutes” for the collection of bloggers and podcasters and provided voice parts for the twice yearly special segments as well as moderating the forums. See Friends in Tech
