December is always a busy month. It is no different this year here at WHBC with lots of varied events going on. Here are a couple that have taken place in the last week with photos to illustrate!
Eats
Last week we had our December Community Lunch, a meal with a message for folk available during the day to come and share a lo-cost meal and a short bible message. Lots of folk came to eat, to help, and even to talk!
Shoots
On Saturday we had a Men's Breakfast with lots of hungry men itching to get their hands on loaded shotguns. Speaking to them directly and plainly about the state of their souls could have been quite scary if they had decided that preachers make better targets than clays and skeet!
"Hmm. I should bring this to the next deacons' meeting..."
"Canada Geese? Let me at 'em!"
"Oh, yes, they'd listen to my sermons if I had one of these!"
"Rats! Missed one..."
Leaves
Despite the busyness of December, it would be wrong for me to for not to say a public farewell to Hannah Mackenzie, who has now spent her last Lord's Day with us before relocating to Emmanuel, Leamington Spa because of her new job.
Hannah has been a valuable part of the church here for many years, and we will miss her greatly. Pray for Hannah as she settles in to a new church family, and new home, and new employment!
Hannah, don't be a stranger...
