George Michael - Pearls of Wisdom
I have always found it somewhat difficult to take George Michael seriously. However, this recent quotation takes the proverbial biscuit.
Michael says that he and his long-term lover, Texan businessman Kenny Goss, are monogamous "emotionally but not sexually", and that he's had a "huge" number of sexual partners since he was outed.
"I spent the first half of my career being accused of being gay, but I was actually 27 before I had a gay relationship. Since then, I've been something of a tart.
Straight people might find this idea fascinating, but it's completely run of the mill in gay society," he told one British newspaper. "After about three years with the same man you look in each other's eyes and it's clear that you're both really desperate to get it somewhere else."
"After I was arrested I said I would not talk to the press for 12 years. I got away with it and kept on selling records, and a lot of journalists have tried to humiliate me ever since.
"But it won't work. When it comes to public humiliation, most things are small stuff compared with getting caught with your knob out in a public toilet."
*sigh*
