Started reading Thomas Oden's three volume Systematic Theology today.
Was hoping to hold it aloft, Ragnar-like, as I jump into the broiling pit of ravening wolves of modern theology, shouting, "Odeeeen!"
Bit disappointed really. Not because my penchant for the theatrical has been denied, but because his mighty weapon isn't as sharp as I had hoped it would be. Admittedly, I've only skimmed so far, but there are some unusual entries. Perhaps it will improve...
